Bouquets In A Bag

Hiya! We hope you are absolutely adore your new blooms from Rae of Roses Flower Studio. Your cut stems have just arrived in our studio, 24 hours after being delivered from Holland. We pride ourselves on providing the freshest flowers and foliage, being a made-to-order business and the best team makes this possible.

Your cut flowers are a living thing and need love and nurture to fill you with joy for as long as possible! Average life of your bouquet is 7-10 days. In order to keep your cut flowers fresher for longer, here is our advice to fulfil maximum longevity:

When your blooms arrive, you don’t have to do anything for the next 2 days as we have already ensured your blooms are well fed. You can just enjoy there beauty for now in our beautiful wrapping.

There’s two options!

  • After the 2 days, we recommend taking your blooms out the bag and untying the packaging, being careful of the aqua bubble, which is the cellophane wrapped around the bottom of your stems with the water and placing in your vase. Optionally, You can remove the cellophane from around the bottoms of the stems, leaving the rest of the wrapping on, it really is your preferred choice!
  • Using sharp scissors or secateurs, snip about half an inch off the bottom at a 45 degree angle. This is for every individual stem & is the most crucial step. We’ll explain why further down!
  • Place your blooms in a clean vase or container filled up half way with warm water and your provided flower food. Your cut stems will really appreciate this to last longer!
  • Finally, to keep your flowers going for their max life, repeat this step every 2 days, making sure you clean the vase each time with a dash of bleach to reduce bacteria.

Bouquet/ Arrangement in Floral Foam

If you have recieved a Bloom box or floral arrangement in Oasis, this part is for you!
You’re lucky as there isn’t much maintenance to this at all. You can sit back and enjoy your stems. We recommend you spritzing your arrangement if you have a water sprayer every 2 days, alternatively a cup of warm water in there works just as well!

Is this really necessary?

Absolutely! Here's why:

Cutting your stems at a 45 degree angle is the most crucial part to ensure the maximum longevity of your stems.

If you cut your stems flat, they cannot drink and will die. The stem will just sit, stuck at the bottom of the vase unable to absorb the water they desperately need. Cutting a 45 degree angle allows a bigger surface area for your stem to drink/soak up as much as it desires. Meaning longer vibrancy and longevity!

Putting your stems in warm water isn’t crucial, but they will love you for it. It will bring back all the life in your stems and make them really bloom to their fullest potential.

We hope you enjoy your flowers for the maximum time possible and would love to hear your feedback on our social media pages, Facebook & Instagram.

Best wishes, Aimee & the team Xx
